Come out and play in the sunshine (or rain) with 11 other amazing women...and ME!

I think of the outdoors as a playground, regardless of terrain or season. Whether skiing or snowboarding in the winter or mountain biking and kayaking in the summer; being outdoors and having fun is a great way to keep fit.  Graduating from the Personal Fitness Trainer program at Mount Royal University gave me the opportunity to combine my love of the outdoors and fitness by becoming a Bikini Boot Camp trainer.

As your trainer, I will keep your workouts fresh, fun and challenging regardless of your fitness level. I believe that the atmosphere of a small group setting along with individual motivation allows you to have fun while encouraging you to push harder to achieve your fitness goals.

“Always try anything at least twice...once, to get your groove and second, to rock it!”

KELLY FOORD

AFLCA

Kelly Foord

My love of competitive sports started at an early age with gymnastics... followed by cross country, volleyball, swimming and track and field.  The love of the competition was always a great motivator!!!

During my 20's and early 30's, I would go to the gym and work out but I didn't love the day to day fitness.  It was hard to keep myself motivated once the competition was over.  Add two babies and I couldn't even find the motivation to make it to the gym.  I can't even tell you how much I spent gym memberships that I didn't utilize.

And then I found Bikini Boot Camp!!!  One class and I was hooked.  All of a sudden it wasn't difficult to arrange childcare so I could workout.  It became "my time"... time that I couldn't live without.  I was so motivated by my experience that I decided to get my fitness certification.

Now an avid participant and trainer, I hope to help women find their way back to fitness or keep them excited and motivated through Bikini Boot Camp!!!

LAURIE DUNN

AFLCA

I was born and raised in Scarborough, Ontario and came to Calgary one summer on a whim in 1984. I loved it so much that I stayed. While I was active as a child, physical activity was not a huge part of my life. My journey to physical fitness and all of its benefits began with "back fat"! After losing a significant amount of weight, I took on the gym! The moment I stepped on a treadmill, my passion for running was ignited. In 2007, at the age of 43, I started racing and to date have completed 10 races.

Bikini Boot Camp has been a huge part of my journey. I was looking for something to shake up my regular workout routine, so I enrolled in the program (4 times!). I was also honoured to be part of the Bikini Boot Camp team that ran the Banff to Jasper relay two years in a row.

I am currently working as a personal trainer with Gold's Gym and am thrilled to be able to work with Bikini Boot Camp as an instructor.

LEANNE AUDIA

Leanne Audia

It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new. But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful. There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power. ~ Alan Cohen

Leanne thrives on change and growth and has chosen to take a different path than most.  Always in sports Leanne achieved her Group Fitness Certification in 1995.  After living in Australia, then Montreal, Leanne decided to combine her love of fitness with her need to travel.  In 2000 she embarked on her first cruise ship as a Fitness Director and set out to see the world which she just recently completed.

Leanne has endured numerous injuries and setbacks throughout the years including a skiing accident which left her flat on her back for 4 months.  She understands the struggles psychologically and physically that so many women, including herself, have dealt with.  As a certified Yoga and Pilates instructor she is finally coming to terms with the concept of balance on a number of levels!  She looks forward to sharing her knowledge and will continue to learn from other amazing women like yourself.

There is always room for change or acceptance, to do that takes courage. Courage is taking a different step or path than those before you.... never stop exploring!

I am a native Calgarian and have always been physically active in a number of sports!  Basketball, track and field, gymnastics, down hill and cross country skiing, road and mountain biking, hiking and swimming keep me busy along with my 3 children.  These activities have had a positive impact on how I feel about myself, which is why I decided to become a personal trainer!  I could help others enjoy the benefits and accomplishments of their own journey through health and fitness.  I love to be outdoors and enjoy challenging myself with new activities.  I beleive that each time we push our own boundaries we will experience growth.  I encourage others to believe in their own potential.  My workout philosophy is to challenge yourself, laugh and have tons of fun doing it!

I have always been an active person.  I grew up in Calgary and spent many weekends out exploring the mountains with my family and now my husband.

I have been working in the fitness industry for a few years now.  I graduated Lethbridge College with an Exercise Science Diploma, as well as becoming a Certified Personal Trainer with CSEP.

I spend most of my free time running, I enjoy distance running and this summer I will graduate from the comfort of half marathons to full marathons, along with a few sprint triathlons.

Fitness is not something that you do two hours a week; it is a lifestyle and can have a great impact on your life.  You are only given one body, so take care of it, respect it and love it.

I am currently a personal trainer at Westside Recreation Centre and I am so excited about continuing to work with the fabulous Bikini Boot Camp ladies.

AMY PYSAR

“Never be afraid to do something new. Remember, amateurs built the Arc, professionals built the Titanic"

My interest in sports and fitness started at a young age, playing almost every sport throughout my school years.  I found my true passion for Basketball when I had the opportunity to play at the college level in Edmonton and later in California.  My time in California studying Kinesiology, playing sports and immersing myself in the active outdoor lifestyle is where my interest in Personal Training began.  I decided to move back to Edmonton to complete my education in the Personal Fitness Trainer program at NAIT.

Furthering my love of the outdoors I found Bikini Boot Camp and love what they stand for! The dedication and knowledge of each and every trainer was inspiring.  Not just another boot camp, but a highly structured, motivating women’s only boot camp was just what I was looking for!  I joined Bikini Boot Camp soon after as a trainer.

I believe my athletic background, personal experience and personal training diploma has given me the tools to challenge and motivate you to reach your fitness goals.  I will be there to support you every step of the way; I know together we can achieve anything we put our minds to.  I look forward to the challenge!

REBECCA SUMMACH

B.A.; B.SC. OT REG (C)

Rebecca Summach

I became interested in fitness in high school but was often intimidated by the gym environment and was never sure with what to do with various machines and free weights.  Although I tried to maintain consistency in working out, I often found myself not enjoying going to the gym, performing the same activities and not seeing the results I wanted in my appearance. It wasn’t until university that I started to experiment with different fitness classes and exercises and finally the results that I wanted started to occur.  Working out became enjoyable and a lifestyle!  I became a certified fitness instructor and now teach a wide variety of different classes. I also work as an Occupational Therapist in pediatrics. My philosophy is simple, fitness is a lifestyle and consistency is the key to maintenance.  I am always looking for new and exciting fitness regimes.  I enjoy showing others what fitness can offer, mentally, physically and spiritually. As a trainer I strive to motivate others to achieve their personal goals and maintenance of a healthy lifestyle.

TARA LEE POPIL

B.P.A.S., C.P.T, EXERCISE THERAPIST

Tara Lee Popil

Getting fit, while having fun and meeting new friends. These three concepts may not often appear together, but at my Bikini Boot Camp workouts they do! I love the idea of getting fit, having fun, pushing physical limits and all the while enjoying the company of other women! I have been active my whole life and enjoy a variety of activities.  I work part-time as an Exercise Therapist here in Regina. I became a fitness instructor 15 years ago because I love being active and meeting new people. I strive to inspire those I teach to reach their personal fitness goals and become healthier and happier in the process.

Through my work as an Exercise Therapist, I focus my programming on children that have difficulty achieving certain physical milestones and goals.  Working with these children has inspired my approach to boot camp, as I push them to be more active with their families and more successful at school and in their communities.  My multifaceted approach will empower you to succeed, setting up personal and achievable goals while building self-confidence and a renewed sense of accomplishment.  It is through my work that I have learnt that everyone has different and unique goals and that hard work, a positive attitude, a customized plan, and someone to push you can help you achieve whatever milestones you need to achieve.

For me, Bikini Boot Camp is a great outlet to let out that extra steam, release your stress hormones and get your body in tip-top shape. This is not a typical exercise program.  With my boot camps, I offer a high energy, physical challenge to those in my group, and a fun, albeit no excuses approach to fitness. We will target muscles that you may not even know you had, focus on a total body workout and shock your body into molding into a different shape.  Everyone has their own personal goals and time frame, but my custom programs will focus on realizing those goals and each unique and innovative workout will make you feel closer and closer to that goal.

We work hard, but the results are absolutely worth it!

LAURA SIMONS

Laura Simons
As a trainer, my philosophy is simple. Enjoy what you do and love each minute of your experiences. If it's exciting, excruciating, overwhelming or exhausting... I say do it anyway, and do it with purpose. In my career as a trainer, I have been given so many opportunities to work with all kinds of people. I know that if you enjoy what you do, you are far more likely to succeed at it. This applies to all areas of life.

I started my career in the fitness industry at a very early age. I have always been involved in competitive sports and dance. Staying active has always been important in my life. It was important to incorporate my love for fitness in my professional life. I like to think that I have taught a lot to my clients over the years, but I will also say that I have learned so much from the women I have worked with. Each client and participant has their own story and their own goal.  I have seen people cry and laugh and hurt, but those events are all part of their fitness journey. Every person I have worked with is a part of my life journey. That is what we share. Each encounter with my clients or participants is what has shaped me to be the trainer I am today. In my career as a trainer, I always encourage clients and participants to enjoy each step of the path towards what they want, because however it ends, you can always look back at the work you put in.
The 5 mile run from my house ends in a parking lot with 3 garbage bins. Let's just say, I'm not running 5 miles to see the garbage bins. Wherever you are heading on your path, I look forward to seeing you along the way.
"The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step."

CHANTALE PRYOR

PT

Chantale Pryor

Physical activity has always been part of my life.  From dance class and gymnastics as a child to basketball and track and field in high school, I was always involved in sports one way or another.

My involvement in health and fitness continued throughout university where I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Human Kinetics/Health Promotion.  I then proceeded to earn my Physiotherapy degree from the University of Ottawa.

In 2006, a personal tragedy made me reevaluate my life, my goals and my plans for the future.  At that moment, I chose to become the best version of myself that I could be, mentally and physically. Initially, exercising was purely therapeutic but within a few weeks, I was having fun and enjoying the positive physical and mental transformations.

What I want for my Bikini Boot camp ladies is to inspire and to be inspired, to challenge one another to be the best that they can be.  I am here to provide honesty, positivity, and continued support to every participant.  But most of all I want everyone to have a great time while reaping the rewards of a kick butt workout.

The hardest part of an exercise regimen is to start…once you’ve started…the most difficult part is to stop!!!

STEPHANIE JOHNSTON

PTS, NWS

Stephanie Johnston

Spending endless summers by the lake and winters on a ski hills in Northern Ontario, fitness, especially outside, has always been a huge part of my life.  I discovered my passion for group fitness at a young age when my Mum pushed a very stubborn 15-year old to step classes at a small local gym.  This passion grew into something larger than I thought it could be, and before I knew it I found myself on my University varsity rowing team. I not only began competing with my team, but I also started coaching, mentoring and managing at a Rowing Club in my hometown.  After battling through many injuries, I decided I wanted to dedicate myself to helping others reach their own fitness goals, becoming a certified Personal Trainer Specialist and a Nutrition and Wellness Specialist.

I believe that every day is a new one, and we all need to live it to our full potential!  Grab a hold of the reigns and lead your day into something you can be proud of!  Make friends, have fun, learn something new and push yourself past your own limits every day.  I look forward to helping you achieve all your goals at Bikini Boot Camp!
